"Lizro'a Or” (Sowing Light) is a voluntary project, encouraging individuals and organizations to grow plants, and donate them to evacuated citizens and communities, to the brave men and women of the Israeli defense and rescue forces, as well as all who were effected by the horrific atrocities of October 7th.
Lately, that also includes rehabilitated communities in northern Israel, and Otef Gaza.

About Us
From the destruction of Oct 7th, we found ourselves - 9 women gathered around a mutual goal.
We witnessed the citizens evacuated over night, the burnt homes and gardens, the broken communities, and decided to take action and sow light in these dark times.
We realized that the plants are a blessing not only to the recipients but also to the giving growers.
Keeping yourself busy in physical tasks like planting, propagating, nurturing, and even just spending time on a natural living environment can reduce anxiety that we all suffer from these days and has a powerful calming effect.
Gardening gives a sense of capability, structure, and generosity inspired by the power of nature to renew itself after a crisis and regrow, like nature we too can regrow and rebuild the wrecked, like a little seedling.
Our volunteers are like a human mosaic of the Israeli society - including individuals, educational institutions, and other civil organizations.
From preschool children, to the elderly in retirement homes, and we orchestrate all this by coordinating and connecting people with the assistance of our regional head volunteers.
Our volunteers grow plants from propagating and cuttings and nurture them for up to 3 months until they are ready to be delivered,
while other volunteers decorate planters or prepare mini flags for us, with an empowering message on them.
We established a wide chain of transportation, based on volunteers, to deliver the grown plants from the grower to the recipient.
The plants are given to a wide range of populations - evacuated communities in their temporary housings, evacuation centers, temporary schools, and care centers, and also rehabilitated communities, and bereaved families, IDF units and many more.
Our goal is to give them that relaxing, calming surrounding that only nature can give.
Our purpose is to sow light throughout this whole complicated era and spread hope for our future.
